STANFORD, Calif.– Each fall, as Stanford and U.C. Berkeley battle it out on the football field in the Big Game, the schools’ respective blood banks also have a major competition of their own.

This year, Stanford fans can support the Cardinal and help them win for an 8th consecutive time by donating at the “Rivals for Life” blood drive, Tuesday, November 17, 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.  at the Arrillaga Center for Sports and Recreation, 341 Galvez Street, Stanford University campus.

“This is one of the most popular blood drives we do all year,” said blood center spokesperson, Loren Magaña. “In the spirit of competition, we try to rally the entire Stanford community to come out to support a great cause, and help save lives.”

In the nine years since it began, the respective blood drives have yielded a combined (include # from Elisa) units of blood that have helped countless patients in need.

For this year’s 10th anniversary, the Stanford football team even got involved and shot a video to assist with the recruitment of donors. https://youtu.be/HQ7XtHlm-LY
