1/1/2009: Stanford Blood Center Organizes a Series of Events to Boost Blood Supply in the New Year
STANFORD, Calif. —In an effort to increase blood inventory for community hospitals, Stanford Blood Center will host several events and offer special giveaways during January, National Blood Donor Month. The winter holidays are an especially difficult time to maintain adequate supplies of blood because people are typically traveling, busy, or sick during that time, and Blood Center staff have learned that piling on the fun and prizes helps encourage more people to get out and donate. 06/30/2008: Stanford Blood Center Celebrates 30th Anniversary With Proclamation and Festivities
STANFORD, Calif.—On Wednesday, July 2, Stanford Blood Center invites the public to celebrate its 30th anniversary. Palo Alto Mayor Larry Klein will kick off the festivities at noon with a proclamation on behalf of the City of Palo Alto recognizing Stanford Blood Center's dedicated service to the community.

06/09/2008: Stanford Blood Center, Cantor Arts Center Partner to Benefit the Community
STANFORD, Calif.—Stanford Blood Center invites the public to view a special installation at the Cantor Arts Center at Stanford University and to donate blood this summer. This unique exhibition, entitled “Spared from the Storm: Masterworks from the New Orleans Museum of Art” showcases 80 pieces of world-class art that escaped the devastation of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. 06/03/2008: Stanford Blood Center is Critically Low in Type O Negative Blood
STANFORD, Calif.—Stanford Blood Center is critically low in type O negative blood and needs eligible people to donate this week to meet local needs. Unusually high demand has depleted O negative supplies. Today, a patient undergoing heart surgery used what little O negative blood Stanford Blood Center had in its inventory. 05/29/2008: Stanford Blood Center and Central Self Storage Hold Blood Drives in Response to San Jose State University's Blood Drive Ban
STANFORD, Calif.—After hearing of San Jose State University (SJSU) President Don Kassing’s decision to ban blood drives on campus, Cathi Rosas, Regional Manager of Central Self Storage, offered to host several summertime blood drives with Stanford Blood Center. Due to increased usage at area hospitals, Stanford Blood Center is critically low in types O, A-positive, and B-negative. 01/30/2008: Stanford Blood Center Statement Regarding San Jose State University's Decision to Suspend Blood Drives
STANFORD, Calif.—Stanford Blood Center is deeply disappointed in San Jose State University President Don Kassing’s decision to suspend blood drives on campus out of a concern that a federal policy regarding blood donor eligibility is discriminatory.
