Donating at Mobile Blood DrivesDonors may give blood at community blood drives. To find out about drives in your area, call 650-723-7819 or click here to find a blood drive near you. On day of donation, please remember: Do not skip meals, be well-hydrated (water/juices) and BRING PHOTO IDENTIFICATION. Donors must weigh 110 pounds or more, be feeling well with no symptoms of colds, flu or infection and must never have had hepatitis. (See also medical history ) Create a Mobile Blood DriveStanford Blood Center conducts mobile blood drives throughout the Bay Area, collecting approximately half its annual blood supply in this manner. Companies, churches and civic groups find that blood drives on site make donation convenient for their employees/members. In addition, people find that a spirit of giving with friends and co-workers is very satisfying. Whether donation takes place in Stanford Blood Center's bloodmobile or in a room provided by the organization, having the Blood Center come to you is a plus! Our account representatives will provide appropriate publicity, help with appointments and work out all the details to help YOU create a successful blood drive. If you would like to schedule a mobile blood drive or would like more information, please contact John Williams, Donor Recruitment Manager, at 650-723-7265 or . Please note that in most cases 20 donors or more are necessary to create a viable mobile drive. If you have a group of less than 20 donors, please contact Mike Sage, Center Recruitment Supervisor, at or 650-725-4445 to inquire about a special small group event at one of our centers. Groups to the CenterDo you have a small group that would like to donate together? Or perhaps you and your coworkers would like to donate in honor of a friend or child at a nearby hospital? We can also set up tours and presentations to teach small groups about the donating process. Give Mike Sage a call at 650-725-4445 to arrange a special small group appointment. |
